At Village Farms, we proudly cultivate Catimor coffee, a distinguished variety within the Arabica family. Our farm’s unique location and altitude provide the perfect environment for producing high-quality coffee beans, characterized by their exceptional flavor and aroma.
We are committed to sustainable farming practices, utilizing an eco-pulper that recirculates water, significantly reducing the amount of water required during processing. In addition, we employ a mechanical demucilager, which further minimizes water usage by reducing the need for extensive fermentation. To ensure our coffee meets the highest standards, we regularly monitor the drying process with a coffee moisture meter, maintaining an optimal moisture content of 10-12%.
Our dedication to quality begins even before the coffee reaches the drying stage. We conduct meticulous pre-drying sorting, removing impurities, unpulped cherries, and any discolored beans to guarantee only the finest coffee makes it to your cup.
Village Farms sources coffee not only from our own farm but also from local farmers in surrounding areas. We purchase various coffee varieties, including Geisha, Catimor, and others. We believe in building strong relationships with our farmers early in the season, offering guidance and feedback to help them improve their coffee quality long before we make a purchase.
Thanks to our farm’s favorable growing conditions—high altitudes above 1,200 meters and medium to high rainfall—the coffee from our region is renowned for its exceptional quality. Our coffee is celebrated for its distinctive floral fragrance, lemon-lime acidity, and subtle stone fruit flavors, all culminating in a clean, milk chocolate finish. Some describe it as sweet, delicate, and shyly bright, making it a truly unique and delightful experience for coffee lovers.
